Capital City Century Update
September 10, 2022

The 50th annual Capital City Century kicks off on Saturday, September 10 from Centennial Park on Springfield's west side. We're still working on the routes but this year you can expect to head south toward the towns of Franklin and Waverly (less hills this year!)

Rest Stops: The first rest stop will be held at Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary. We're excited about this beautiful venue and think it will serve riders well. You can learn more about the sanctuary at  Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary Facebook page. The second rest stop is planned to be at the community park in Franklin. If you've ever ridden on the Burgoo Ride, you'll be familiar with this shady stop.

Post-Ride Meal: Something different this year --- we're planning to have a baked potato bar with all the trimmings!

Courses: Routes are being finalized and will be released in a few weeks. As always, routes will be marked in the days prior to the ride, and we'll provide GPS files for download as well as a limited supply of paper maps.

Best Wishes for a Speedy Recovery

Many of you know Alan Whitaker --- he's a longtime club member and served on the board for many years as webmaster. Alan had a spill on the Interurban Trail on the Tuesday night Slow C ride and suffered numerous injuries. He's recuperating at home and will be off the bike for a while. Please join us in wishing Alan a speedy recovery!
