Franklin Burgoo Ride

Start Location: County Market Parking Lot, Chatham
 
The annual Franklin Burgoo Ride has been a Springfield Bicycle Club tradition dating back to the 1970s. The ride goes to the village of Franklin, Illinois for its annual Burgoo Festival. There are different distances and routes, depending how far you'd like to ride. There are no designated ride leaders and all are welcome. A common starting location is the County Market in Chatham, but you can start in Springfield to get more miles, or start in Loami for a shorter route.
 
 
Volunteer Incentive Program
 
The Springfield Bicycle Club relies heavily on volunteerism. Without the help of members like you, we would not be able to offer events like the Sangamon Cycling Series or the Capital City Century. New for 2023, any member who volunteers 10 or more hours will receive recognition on our website and social media, and will also receive a special long-sleeve t-shirt. 
 
Learn about the new Incentive Program and please consider signing up for one of the volunteer slots.  Please note that members who have already volunteered in 2023 will receive credit for their hours.
