Update for Route Markers

Hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day weekend, and let's hope things cool off a bit!

Just a few last-minute announcements for our Route Markers.  We will meet at 8 AM on Wednesday, September 6th at the Sherman Athletic Club. The address is 300 South First, Sherman, IL.

If you happen to have a gas-powered leaf blower (we don't, but maybe YOU do!!!), consider bringing that along. We try to clear any debris or loose gravel in the intersections.  A good alternate to the blower is a broom. We may have a few brooms at the club's storage unit, but maybe bring one "just in case". If you are on the groad route, no sweeping --- in fact, we encourage gravel!

We will use a combination of spray paint, paper arrows and above-ground signs to mark the routes.  You can look at the routes at the following link:

I'll plan to have some turn-by-turn printouts that you can refer to.

Route colors have changed slightly, to take advantage of existing signage.  The colors will be:

12-Mile Family Route Orange
20-Mile Road Route Blue
40-Mile Road Route Red
51-Mile Groad Route Pink
63-Mile Road Route Green
100/125 Mile Road Rte Yellow  (for the 125-mile, we'll mark an extra loop north of Middletown in orange)

Teams are as follows:
12-Mile Libby Shawgo and David Kalaskie
20-Mile Libby Shawgo and David Kalaskie
40-Mile Bob Coady and Jeff Meyerhoff
51-Mile Groad Casey Primm and Steve Schroll
63-Mile Jon Edwards and Donna Brayfield
100/125-Mile John Kinsel and Anne Schroll

John Kinsel will serve as our Team Captain and will give instructions before we set out on our tasks.  John will also be coordinating the Route Checking on Friday, September 8th.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that's enough for now.  I'll see you all on Wednesday morning!  As always, thanks very much for volunteering for this essential task.
Thanks again, please let me know if you have any questions or if your schedule changes.  You can text or call me at 217-414-4101 or email me at abaker61@gmail.com
